BODEGAS EL MAESTRO SIERRA
AMOROSO (MEDIUM)
Amoroso, like Cream, is a “cabeceo” (blend) of the two grape varieties
characteristic of the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Denomination of Origin: Palomino and
Pedro Ximénez.
Amoroso Medium is unique and exclusive to Bodegas El Maestro Sierra and springs from
one of the simplest and most heartfelt traditions of Jerez: that of the labourers and workers who, on
their way home after a day's work, would stop at the tabancos and wine shops and
ask the bodeguero for a bottle of Oloroso with a touch of Pedro Ximénez, so that their
wives would find it more “amoroso” (loving).
It is a blend of 90% 15-year-old Oloroso and 10% Pedro
Ximénez, which then age together in American oak casks for a further 4 years.
19% vol.
