The Essence of Jerez
Wine, food, flamenco and history are the elements that define Tabanco El Pasaje, its origins and its essence. Ingredients that blend perfectly in what is recognised as the oldest tabanco in Jerez, where wine is served straight from the cask and you can enjoy flamenco every day of the year.
A unique and charming venue, and an essential stop for discovering and understanding a city like Jerez, famous the world over for its wines and the compás of its flamenco, both born in this land and the undisputed stars of this tabanco for some unforgettable days.
Strategically located just off Calle Larga, one of the main thoroughfares of the historic centre, and surrounded by landmark buildings such as the Market, the Post Office, the Teatro Villamarta and the Gallo Azul, Tabanco El Pasaje was founded in 1925, having served other purposes over the years before becoming a wine house.
This singular tabanco, unique for its food, its atmosphere and its flamenco shows, can be reached from two key streets in the city centre, Santa María and Mesones, hence its name ‘El Pasaje’ (‘The Passage’).
Today it still keeps its original casks, from which Fino, Palo Cortado, Oloroso and Amontillado are served, among other artisan wines from the El Maestro Sierra bodega, a delight for the senses in an idyllic pairing with top-quality produce from the Sierra and the Coast of Cádiz, such as cured meats and cheeses, salted fish and tuna.
What is more, stepping into El Pasaje means stepping into the history of Jerez. Its careful, exquisite décor, with stacked casks, demijohns, posters and all kinds of bodega tools, immerses us in the tradition of the wines and their ageing, which have shaped the city's history for thousands of years.
Come and be moved by a complete sensory experience. We look forward to welcoming you at Tabanco El Pasaje with just one aim: ‘that you enjoy yourself’.

Wine and Food
At El Pasaje, the fusion of wine and food is the perfect invitation to enjoy one of this city's most treasured experiences.
We offer an extensive menu of wines, tapas and dishes to suit every guest, because there is a wine for every palate and every occasion, and a food offering that connects with the textures, aromas and flavours of the wide range of sherries.
One of the keys to the universal appeal of our wines is how well they pair with any kind of cuisine, and at El Pasaje we invite you to discover them alongside our tapas of cheese, ham, chicharrones (crispy pork), tuna or mojama (cured tuna), or with our home-made stews.
If sherries are made to captivate us and to be savoured, at El Pasaje we guarantee it.

Flamenco in Jerez
Visiting Jerez means immersing yourself in its most deeply rooted art, flamenco, which is part of the city's daily life and one of the experiences we offer our visitors at El Pasaje.
Here you can enjoy flamenco every day of the year, with special programmes coinciding with the city's festive calendar: the Festival de Jerez, the Feria del Caballo (Horse Fair), the Fiestas de la Vendimia (Grape Harvest Festival) and Christmas in Jerez.
Experience authentic flamenco and the finest sherries.
Much More Than Wine
El Pasaje is a place open to all kinds of ideas, where you can enjoy a wide range of activities.
We invite you to join a wine tasting and discover the world of pairing sherry with our food or, why not, to take your first steps with one of our courses, for all levels, in Bulerías dancing and palmas (flamenco handclapping), learning to follow the compás (rhythm) the way it is only done in this part of the world.
At El Pasaje you can also enjoy exhibitions, book launches and other cultural events.
